Under the guidance of Coach Jim Quinn, who is joined this year by assistant coach Clay Shoemaker, the team is poised to tackle a demanding fourteen-game schedule. This rigorous lineup promises to test their skills and resilience, but early indications suggest that the prospects for a successful season are bright. Among the nearly fifty boys who tried out for the team, only five returning veterans have secured their spots: juniors Dominic Mauti, Bob Gordon, Dick Flewelling, Dale Basel, and Clayton Murphy. These experienced players bring invaluable knowledge and camaraderie to the team, fostering a strong foundation for the season ahead.

The roster is further bolstered by promising new talent, including Jerry Yerks, Jerry Green, Harold Hopp, Dale Adrian, Marvin Claus, Frank Richards, and Henry Shorkey. Each of these players has the potential to make a significant impact as they work together to build a cohesive unit. Following their impressive opening night victory, the Hurons continued their winning streak with subsequent victories against Pellston (28-15), Manistee (38-25), and Traverse City (29-26). However, they faced a setback in a challenging match against Ludington, where they lost 30-47.
